Morgan's Birthday in the Dells

We hadn't exactly planned to do a Dells trip for Morgan's birthday, but it just happened to work out that way and it was a great way to celebrate her 5th birthday.  Tom's parents let us use some of their time share points and the available dates coincided with her birthday.  Lucky I guess!  Again we were staying at the Wilderness at Glacier Canyon - a great place to stay in the winter with three indoor water parks that we could use.  We had a three bedroom/three bath suite complete with a kitchen/dinning/living space so we invited our friends, the Kataniks, to join us for the four day party.  The kids had a great time - especially Morgan.  Jackson started to come down with a chest cold which made it hard for him to breathe at times, so he sat on the sidelines a fair share.  I felt so bad for him - I know he wanted to be out their playing, sliding, and swimming but it scared him when he couldn't get air quick enough.  And then he would tell us, "Sorry I'm ruining your vacation."  Talk about breaking our heart - he wasn't ruining it at all... we felt horrible for him.

We spent time at two of the three parks, plus some time at the arcade and the big jungle gym.  Jackson, Tom, our friend Tim and his son Kyler, spent an hour or so playing mini golf too.  We had Morgan's birthday dinner at Buffalo Phil's (our food comes to us on a train!), and we brought all of Morgan's gifts for her to open as well as her birthday cake.  With us being away from home, I had her cake made this year.  Her request was a horse themed cake (the girl loves horses!).  I remembered to pack candles for the cake, but unfortunately we didn't have any way to light them.  Oops!  And do you know how hard it is to find matches some place close by to the hotel?  Tom had to run to a gas station finally.

Just finished settling into the room and about to head
down for some swimming!

Another selfie and we celebrated at Buffalo Phil's.
Even Madi sent Morgan birthday wishes!  Thanks
Jessica (and Josh) for doing that for Morgan! (And for
watching our Madi girl for us too!)
Ready for cake!
Now she's waiting for the candles to be lit.  :(
Finally!  It took so long we had to get jammies on even!
And the people at the front desk found out it was
Morgan's birthday when we checked in... they asked
her a few questions about her favorites.  And then the
next morning we found this along with a balloon and a
birthday button posted on our door.  How sweet of
the staff there!  She felt so special!

It was a fun and special birthday for Morgan (even though she did miss the 100th Day Celebration, Valentine's Day, and her birthday at school - she didn't seem to care at all about those things).  Thanks Granny and Pup Pup for the gift of the time share points!  We all loved it!  And Happy 5th Birthday to our sweet, sassy, adorable, kind and loving Mo Mo!  You are a blessing from God and I thank him every day for you, My Sunshine!  I love you!
