Go Cooneys!

We own very little purple, so I hit up the local sports store for some Cooney apparel.
Don't we look good?!

Yesterday was Oconomowoc High School's Homecoming.  Even though we are not from here, it was really fun getting into the school spirit.  Maybe it is because both Tom and I have fond memories of our own high school experiences.

The anticipation for the Homecoming parade and the game had been building all week.  All through town there were windows painted cheering on the Cooney's (I know - Who in the world names their
mascot a Cooney?  Which is a raccoon if you were wondering.).  And you saw more purple and gold all throughout the town (Also, who picks purple and gold for their school colors?).  The kids were ready come Friday! Two weeks ago we took the kids to the home opener (my first high school football game in 13 years) and they had a blast so we knew we had to partake in Homecoming too.  And we had done the parade last year and knew that it was a must-do again this year.  It was so much fun!  We were there with friends too which made the experience all the better!

Unfortunately, the Cooney's lost, but it was a well fought game.  Just thinking about the night makes me smile... It brings back some great memories from my glory days in small town Nebraska.

Cassie and Morgan plugged their ears as the ambulance siren marked the beginning of the parade.

Jackson, Cassie, Morgan, and Adelyn - Buddies from our playgroup.

Jackson practicing his photography skills again - and yes that is a beer in my hand.

Very excited for the parade!

Shake it to the left...

Skake it to the right!  Yes, she was dancing!

Really taking it all in!

Here comes the homecoming royalty!

Morgan waving at the queen, king, and their court as they go by.

They loved the monster truck!

What's next?

Look at all my candy!

Lots more candy!

The Batmobile!  Complete with Batman, Robin, The Joker, Captain America, The Riddler and Superman.

Here comes the Cooney!

Morgan and Kyler after the parade.  Kyler is also in our playgroup.

Morgan sharing candy with Kyler, Cassie, and Adelyn.
And yes, that is a pitcher of beer next to Adelyn....So sterotypical Wisconsin - beer on a
Friday night right on the streets of downtown.

We stopped for a little McD's before the game - always makes Jackson smile!

Now chowing on popcorn at the game with Kyler - How did he eat so much?!

Morgan chowing popcorn and hanging with the Big Girls (friends of ours have a daughter in high school).

Hi-Five, Mr. Tom!

And what football game wouldn't be complete withoug rolling down the hillside.
