The Bluest Skies You've Ever Seen Are In Seattle...

Well the bluest skies weren't in Seattle last week, but the weather was a nice change from the heat and humidity we left in Wisconsin.  Last Tuesday we ventured back to our old stomping grounds to help some friends celebrate their wedding vows and to also just catch up with all our friends from the Northwest.  It was a great trip.  But like our last visit in December, it was exhausting.  We thankfully were able to meet up with almost everyone, but unfortunately, we did miss others... I guess we'll catch those people on our next trip.  Here are some highlights from our trip and just some cute pics that I want to share.  Yes, there are lots of pictures, but I have a hard time narrowing down...so I will continue to post lots of pics in my posts!

Wednesday, June 8 - A little shopping, a visit to Imagination Station School, and dinner at Ana's with friends.

Thursday, June 9 - Visited some of Tom's old customers and a BBQ in Kirkland with friends.

Friday, June 10 - Visiting some Seattle sights (the Pacific Science Center & the Space Needle), a stop at our old office, and Stan's BBQ with old co-workers.
Yay!  The Space Needle!

Aren't they adorable?

Saturday, June 11 - Laurie & I got our nails done; Tom, Jason, and the kids went to the Tanner Jeans Bike Rodeo on the Ridge, and the wedding celebration of Charlie & Kelcy.
Jackson at the bike rodeo - Tanner Jeans was a 7-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car while riding his bike in Snoqualmie Ridge in 2004.  Every year the family and community host the bike rodeo to teach children bike safety.  Every kid gets a free helmet among other things.  The mountain biking group (the Dirt Corp) that Tom rode with also sponsors the event.  A great event, born out of a tragedy.
Charlie & Kelcy Maier - A beautiful wedding!
And a beautiful couple!

Tom and I with our wonderful neighbors Eddie, Max, and Susie - the groom, Charlie wasn't available for the pic.  (This picture was actually taken by one of our friends - Thanks Michelle!)

Morgan and Abby making pizza while we were at the wedding.  Thanks for sharing this pic, Laurie!

Sunday, June 12 - Church, brunch with friends, and visiting old neighbors on the Ridge.
Morgan & Susie playing Legos Sunday afternoon
Eddie & Susie with the kids - some of the greatest neighbors!

Monday, June 13 - One last Seattle coffee (so much better in Seattle!), visiting the Falls, playing at the park, lunch with an old co-worker, one more dinner at Ana's with friends, and the red-eye flight back to Milwaukee.
Near Snoqualmie Falls...

The Falls.  See the cranes in the background?  A major renovation to the hydro plant on the falls is taking place right now.
Can you see the rainbow as you look down the Snoqualmie River?
The family looking at the falls
Enjoying one more Starbucks while watching the Falls.  I know it sounds crazy, but they really know how to make a great coffee in Seattle!
Just a little comparison - Almost one year ago they took the same picture

Lunch with my "Work Dad" Mike.  Morgan loved hanging with him!

Becoming a bit of a monkey
And he loves sliding down fire poles...says he is going to be a fireman when he grows up!

A big thanks to Laurie, Jason, and Abby for letting us stay with them.  We are so appreciative... I know we are a crazy crew to put up with for a week!

And if you are wondering, the title of this blog is actually the name of a song by Perry Como and the theme song to a show from the 60's - "Here Come the Brides".  One of my old co-workers used to always sing this and now every time I think of Seattle... regardless of the weather... this song comes to mind.  I know...silly!  Just an FYI.

And as I write this, a friend just posted this link on Facebook... http://www.ci.snoqualmie.wa.us/VideoonDemand.aspx.  Thought it was perfect to share in this post too.  A nice little video about the community we used to call home... the place of our first home, the place where we brought our kids home to for the first time.  We love Snoqualmie, WA!
