Art Projects

This morning before going the library, the kids did a little drawing.  I have to say, we had lots of fun, just coloring at the table.  And it was a bit of a milestone...both Jackson and Morgan completed pictures that I have never really seen them do entirely on their own before!  Really cool!

Morgan drew a face with eyes, a nose, and a mouth.  Plus hair too.  All done on her own and I couldn't believe how well she did placing the parts on the face.

Jackson's picture, he said, was of Robin Hood.  His drawing was a huge milestone (to me)... I can never get him to take the time to color or draw, so the fact that he drew a circle, then placed the eyes, nose, and mouth was huge.  Then he proceeded to put on arms and legs, followed by hands and feet (they are only dots but they are there).  So proud of him.

Then he drew Maid Marian. He couldn't remember her name, but said, "This is the girl that likes Robin Hood." So I can only assume.  And he proceeded to tell me she was pretending to be a ballerina and that he drew her in purple "because girls like purple, Mom."  Yay for Jackson!  So happy to see him wanting to do these things all by himself!!

Amazing how different boys and girls are though.  Morgan is doing something at 2 years & 4 months that Jackson is finally doing at 3 years & 7 months.  They both have such different interests...yet Morgan wants to do whatever her brother does!
