100th Post - Family Visits

We're celebrating our 100th blog post with a recap of our January visitors! I figured that television shows always make a big deal out of their 100th episode, so why not make a point to celebrate our 100th post. As you likely noticed, I did a horrible job of posting anything in January - only one post. The month just passed me by too quickly. So here is the run down on our January 2010...

My Mom and Dad arrived on January 13th and were here until the 17th. It was a quick trip but a great one. They were here to help me celebrate a milestone birthday.... yes, I hit the big 3-0 this year. We didn't do a whole lot while they were here, but is was great to catch up with them - we hadn't seen them since August. Mom, Morgan, and I did get in a girls shopping day - always love that! And Dad, Tom, and Jackson did a little sled riding up at the pass. Dad helped me with some grocery shopping and Mom helped me do a little cooking/freezing to fill up our freezer they gave us for Christmas. I think they were happy to get away from the crazy winter weather in Nebraska and I know they were happy to see the kids!

Three days after my folks left, Tom's parents arrived. A day after that, Tom's brother, sister, and our nephew arrived. We had a full house!! But it was so much fun having them all here. Jenny hadn't been to Seattle since our wedding in 2005, so this was her first time to our home. Again, we didn't do a whole lot, but I don't think anyone minded too much. The boys went golfing one day, while the girls and kids went shopping. We took Joni and Don out for dinner one night too - celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary. We watched some football, played some Cranium and just caught up. We hadn't seen any of them since August too. The kids loved playing with their cousin Ryder too. But poor Ryder, I think he thought his cousins were a bit nuts! He needs a sibling so he can have this kind of experience all the time.

By the 27th, the house was quiet again (well as quiet as it can be with two kids) and we didn't know what to do without any company around! So in the mean time we prepped for Morgan's birthday party.

It was a great month and a great way to start 2010!
