Jackson's Hockey Debut

Jackson made his hockey debut today.  I think we finally have found a sport that he is passionate about... other than riding his bike.  He hasn't been a huge fan of soccer or baseball when he has played... although he liked it fine and did it without complaints, he was never excited to do it.  Swimming he has always enjoyed and he is good at it, but it got to the point where it was hard to get him motivated to go to lessons.  We asked him if he wanted to try a "Learn to Skate" class that has an emphasis in playing hockey... he was all for it.  And after his first class today, he seems to be hooked.  It was so fun to see him finish up the lesson (45 minutes of full on practicing - no breaks).  He got off the ice all sweaty and said that was so fun!!  Yay Jackson!  I hope his enthusiasm for the sport continues... even if it is a little more dangerous than I would like and way more expensive than I would wish it to be.

Dad helping him get geared up.
All set!!  All smiles!!
They were breaking the class into two groups: those who
could skate some and those who couldn't at all.  If you
could make it to the other end of the rink without falling,
you got put in the "could skate some" category.  Jackson
made it!  Which is great - a smaller group and more
personal attention.
A couple spills during the lesson... well maybe lots.
He's all out going!
He's the one standing at this point... needed a breather.
