Rock Wall

Friday night we met up with friends to try out the rock wall at the Y.  We have been wanting to give the wall a try, but never seem to carve out the time to try it.  So we said yes when the Bove family asked us to join them.  Both Tom and I have climbed before, but it has been years.  And our little monkeys always ask to try it, so everyone was excited Friday night.  We packed a picnic dinner and then got to climbing.  Unfortunately I have been fighting a head cold, so I opted to take pictures this time.  I can't wait to try it though.  We are actually thinking this may become our Friday night routine... pack our dinner and head to the Y for climbing or swimming.  But that would probably mean giving up our "Friday Night Family Movie" routine.  Maybe switch every-other week?!

So here's the recap in photos... And sorry that some of the pictures aren't that great.  It is hard - the flash isn't much help in a big open area like the rock wall location.

Harnessed up and ready to climb!
The climbers waiting their turns - Tom, Jackson, David, Morgan, & Nicolas.
Morgan on her way up - with a little help from Daddy.
On her way back down (all smiles)!
Jackson's first time up - getting a little starting support
from Daddy.
Still making his first climb.
Morgan with the Bove kids - Isabella (3), Nicolas (7) & David (5).
Tom starting his first climb.
And he made it to the top!
Jackson and Daddy waiting to make their second climbs.
Jackson opted to do the ladder this time.
He's getting pretty high!!!
And he made it to the top!!  Rang the bell too!!
Getting lowered down.  He loved it!  He didn't want to
keep going, but with two ladder rungs left, he persevered!
