It was a spur of the moment decision, but we decided to take a little adventure today! We packed up our beach bag, a lunch bag, and loaded the bike trailer. We biked from our house to the city beach which is about a four mile ride there. One of those miles is on a narrow county road with no shoulders. After the busy road, we get to ride through a neighbor hood and then onto the Lake Country Trail (bike/walk trail). I lead the group pulling Noah in the trailer. Morgan followed me, and Jackson after her. Tom brought up the rear and helped with watching for traffic. It was a stressful ride, but we made it there great. And the kids were a little nervous doing the ride on the road, but really rocked the ride. They listened so well to directions and were great at navigating all the obstacles along the way. Little complaining too... I thought for sure that one of them would start in on being too tired, but no! We then enjoyed about an hour or so on the beach. The water was a little cold still, but it was nice on the sand. We loaded up and made the trek home. Same route, same stresses. Everyone did awesome! So proud of us! It was a fun experience. Definitely not something we want to do often (the county road stresses me way too much) but it was so great to have this experience in our summer memories!
