Easter Weekend 2012

We had a really nice Easter weekend with Tom's parents in town.  I know it was a long trip for them for the short two and a half days they were here - so thank you Joni and Don for making the trek to see us and to celebrate.  We loved having you and the kids are already talking about when they will get to come visit you this summer.

I can't say that we did a lot this weekend, but it was still full and tiring at the same time.  We packed in egg coloring, a little shopping, bike riding, playing outside, church, bubbles, egg hunting, a Granny-Bunny scavenger hunt, baseball in the yard, reading books, and LOTS of candy and food.  By the way, anyone want some candy?  Because we have way too much!  Besides all of this, we (mostly Tom though) installed a new storm/screen door on the front door that took most of Friday afternoon and night...finished up just as his parents were pulling into the driveway.  Why is it that those projects never really go as planned and take longer than you think they really should?  So it goes.  We love our new door, so it was worth the frustrations.

Here is a recap of our Easter weekend in pictures...

Granny, Pup Pup and the kids getting ready to color the eggs.  Don't you love
Morgan's face?
Watching her eggs patiently.
Our other patient egg colorer (not sure that is a real word).
I couldn't believe that they did as well as they did during
this project.
Three eggs to go...

Now for the funny faces of Morgan...

The egg team (minus Granny).
Jackson showing us his egg.
Easter morning...she had just found her basket and it
appears as though she liked the Bunny's gifts.
Jackson just found his basket here and had dumped it all
to check it out.
A little bigger gift from the Bunny for both Jackson and
Morgan.  How did the Easter Bunny know we needed a
new pool for this summer?
Ready for church... just reading a little while everyone
else got their thing together to head out the door.
Just getting home from church now... Morgan was checking
out the flowers in the front of the house.

Check out that new door behind us?
Looks good, huh?
Time to try the eggs!
She ate it, but I can't say that she loved it.
Jackson, on the other hand, seemed to really like it... but
he hasn't wanted any more since.

Time for the Granny-Bunny Scavenger Hunt... Granny placed clues in eggs, leading the kids to a basket from her and Pup Pup.  Very cute and the kids LOVED running around finding the clues and solving the mystery.

Found it!
Our Easter Table - complete with our wedding china.
I think Tom was shocked that I even let the kids use a nice
plate.  But why have them if they don't get used by
everyone?
Ready for the Easter feast.
Release the kids - time for the egg hunt.
He was running out of room in his basket...
so it was time to fill his pockets.
The hunt was done and time to head inside.  Besides it was
starting to get a bit chilly by the end.
Morgan with her loot.
No time wasted...time to open the eggs and feast on the candy.
What a girl!  Playing baseball (with her new glove and ball)
in a tutu and heels!
