The kids were done with school the first week of June. They had one week off and then they started summer school.... Nothing mandatory, but a way to keep the kids learning through the summer. But three days into summer school, we took off for 10 days in Myrtle Beach, SC with the Neuberger family.
We took off on a Thursday... at the very early time of 3:30 AM... and we drove for 12 hours until we got to Asheville, NC where we stayed for the night. We had a nice evening there and then got up the next morning to make the remaining 5 hour drive to Myrtle Beach. We had a great time relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean and the pools, searching for sea creatures in the water and sand, mini golfing & golfing (for the guys, at least), celebrating life events (retirement, birthdays, engagement, anniversaries) and just enjoying being together as a family. We even had a photo shoot with a photographer and got some great family pics... but those pictures will have to wait for another post.
