Block Party

This past weekend, we hosted our annual block party. This was the third year that we have hosted and I think it was the best one yet. The weather was a little overcast and in the low 70s, but that made it much more enjoyable - no over-heating children. I think our turnout was a little less than the year before, but the food was still great and everyone enjoys the time together. We also showed a movie after dark like we had done last year. This year's movie pick was Disney's "Cars". Both kids and adults enjoyed it. And what made the movie all that much cooler was the inflatable movie screen. Our neighbors Kyle and Angela borrowed it from their church for us. We all kept warm by the fire pit since it cooled down more after dark. It was a great afternoon and evening... food, friends, a movie, popcorn, Popsicles, fire pits! What more could you ask for on a summer night? The neighbors are already talking about plans for the Fourth of July and next year's party.
